Mountaineers Win! Daaaaaaaa Mountaineers Win!

Montpelier's minor league baseball team, Vermont Montaineers, beat the the Holyoke Giants 8-2 last night to sweep the division semi-final series.

This was the first home playoff win in the Mountaineers' short history and the first playoff series that they've won. In the two games of this series, the Mountaineers scored 17 runs against the league's best pitching staff. However, for the few innings I got to watch, a lot of the runs were scored due to poor fielding by Holyoke's infielders.

Next up for the Mountaineers will be the league's best team, the Keene Swamp Bats.
