We're into crunch time of the Christmas shopping season. So, if you're still struggling to find the killer gift for that goovular music fan in your life, I have a fab suggestion. In fact, I just ordered a copy for my brother-in-law (shhh...don't tell him).
Wax Poetics, the great soul, jazz & hip hop, has started a line of books and one of their first releases is a coffee table book called Cover Story: Album Cover Art. It's as simple as a collection of cool album covers from decades of soul, jazz and hip hop. What makes it great is that a lot of the covers are relatively obscure but still ranking high in the "Holy crap! Look at that!" category; as you can see from the three samples I pulled. I love the $1.98 price sticker on the Paul Humphrey album (1973 release).
It takes 2-5 days to have it shipped though. So, if you want to order a copy, better get on it.
