Ski Vermont Burger | UPDATE

With all the snow falling this season (we were up at Bolton Valley last weekend and the conditions were "mid-season-like"; plus we're getting more tonight and a dumping on Sunday), a lot of folks are going to be heading for the slopes this year. Well, while you're there, here's a little something you can do for local farmers.

The Vermont Ski Areas Association has teamed up with local beef farmers to create the "Ski Vermont Burger". Basically, it's just a burger but the cool thing is that it entirely comes from local farms. It'll be available at Bolton Valley, Okemo, Jay Peak and Stowe this year. So, whether you're just coming up for the weekend or live here year-round, you can help out the 1,000 Vermont beef producers by chowing down on a Ski Vermont Burger.

Out of curiosity, where the hell is the rest of the Vermont ski areas on this project? Why aren't Killington, Stratton, Bromley, Mount Snow, et al participating? They can't accept a smaller profit on their burgers to help the local farmers who probably can't even afford to ski at their resorts?

UPDATE: I've heard from Ski Vermont and they say that Mount Snow has now joined the program too and they are working with the other resorts. Good to hear. Oh, and we got another dumping this weekend. Stowe said they got 26 inches. It'll be the best "Christmas Week Skiing" in years.
