Man Man Tonight in Burlington!

Club Metronome Wednesday, October 3 $10 18+
Man Man Yip Yip Yes and No Stories

Lots of credit goes to Club Metronome, situated above jam-haven Nectars in Burlington, for bringing the great shows. Last Thursday's Akron/Family, Bob Log III, Greg Davis, & Megafaun show blew my mind. Less then a week later they have put together another incredible lineup.

Philadelphia's Man Man has been described as a playfully existential Viking-vaudeville punk-wop rock-and-soul collective. Last year's Six Demon Bag was a fantastic release, once noted as Tom Waits and Captain Beefheart collaborating on a klezmer-influenced soundtrack to your scariest nightmare about killer clowns. Their carnival live shows seem to include all the members of the band donning war paint and dressed in white outfits (Akron/Family meets The Polyphonic Spree?). I hear the shows to be filled with crazy energy – wonder how they'll stack up against last week's string of exciting shows (I'm thinking Okkervil and the previous mentioned show, not Andrew Bird and The Sea and Cake).

Opening are far-out there electronic duo Yip Yip and Burlington-based Yes and No Stories. Check out Metronome's site for a great write-up on each act.
