Free Gelato in Barre on Saturday

Here's a cool tip for the locals: Leonardo's Italian Gelato and Sorbet will be holding an open house this Saturday, August 4, from Noon-5 p.m. It's a pretty sweet operation run by Loris Carlo DePrato, a third generation gelato man whose recipes run back to his family's parlors and carts in Italy and Germany during the 1920s. Their factory is located at 131 S. Main St., Barre (in the Wall Street Complex). Treat yourself to some of their spectacular frozen treats, face painting and other activities for kids. Pints and cups will be on sale for below wholesale cost, too.
