2007 Year End Survey | Kris Gruen

2007 marked a year of touring for Montpelier-based (by way of NYC) singer/songwriter Kris Gruen. In addition to numerous stops up and down the east coast, Kris started playing Nashville regularly and opened for Sean Lennon.

It’ll be interesting to see if Nashville has had any impact on his chamber folk sound as he starts work on his new album. Gruen is currently working on the album in the NYC studios for Mother West but there isn’t any release date set. It'll also be interesting to see if his cover of Malvina Reynolds' "Little Boxes" makes it onto the album. He recorded a pair of versions of the 60's anti-suburbia folk tune last spring.
