Sera Cahoone is a Seattle based singer-songwriter who has drummed for indie favs Carissa's Wierd and Band of Horses. She got out from behind the kit in 2006 and found herself self-releasing a highly lauded album full of both old-school country music and modern low fi, having one dubbing her “the love child of Cat Power and Buck Owens.” Sera's major release for Sub PopOnly as the Day is Long, came out in last month and has been on constant rotation at the house. It is one heck of a gorgeous atmospheric country-folk album.

Sera is touring this summer with Grand Archives, led by Mat Brooke (ex-bandmate from Carissa's Wierd and Band of Horses). The two groups will be making a stop at Higher Ground's Showcase Lounge on June 8th
