2006 Year End Survey | Ryan Power

Ryan Power has left the Green Mountains for the Ozarks. I'm not entirely sure why but the note on his website gives the impression it's just for the winter. If anyone knows more about it, let me know.

I saw Ryan Power at Positive Pie a few months ago and loved his post-rock sounds enough to pick up his disc loventropy. Besides being a good album, it has some of the coolest packaging in my entire CD collection.

In addirion to the move to Arkansas, the other big news from Ryan Power is that he has made his entire discography available as free downloads on his website. So, go fetch yourself some tunes.

1) What was your favorite song of 2006?

any song by Judee Sill

2) What was your favorite album of 2006?

Tony Remington's "DJJD JudgmentDay"

3) What was your favorite concert of 2006?

Deerhoof

4) What was your favorite thing about 2006?

I stopped drinking alcohol and then started again. Hopefully I'll stop again.

5) What are your best wishes for 2007?

May 2007 bring an end to suffering for all sentient beings.

That Judee Sill track is fantastic, thanks for putting it up, It's so beautiful, i can't believe it's a demo for her proposed third album!! Not bad (i.e. brilliant) for a heroin/cocaine addicted prostitute!! Her music is the most wonderful stuff i've heard in a very long time. R.I.P. Judee (1944-1979).
