I'm about four years late on these guys but what the hell, I still have the rest of my life to enjoy their searing bluesy yet soulful garage rock. Plus, I haven't posted about a band from Sweden in a few weeks.
Mando Diao released their kick-ass debut Bring 'Em In back in 2002. Somewhere along the way, I must have picked up a couple of their tunes because they started popping up on my iPod and grabbing my attention.
I got the disc a few weeks ago and despite a few blunders when they try to slow things down, it's a fun album. It leaves you with the feeling of a tiny cramped sweaty club with Mando Diao just ripping it up on stage with their guitars and organ and the crowd bouncing off the walls after being whipped to a frothy frenzy.
