Band of Horses | Aug 9
Band of Horses put on a fantastic show this evening. Pure rock show, with a tinge of southern charm (especially the case with the 5 or so new songs). They did a cover of the Mick Jagger/Keith Richards' tune Act Together, which was released on Ron Wood's solo album, I've Got My Own Album To Do.

They closed out the set with "Act Together" by Ron Wood, off his album I've Got My Own Album To Do.

They didn't play "Our Swords"? That would have been a disappointment.
ReplyDeleteI caught Dr. Dog in Portland (Space Gallery) last night and will post more about it later. However, the venue had all the acoustic subtlties of Positive Pie. Brick ceilings, cinder block walls, concrete floors and the stage was actually framed with 10-inch steel I-beams. So, it's tough to evaluate a show when the sound is so badly muddled.
Glad to hear BoH went well.
Wow i wasn't even home from the show by the time you posted that. So many great songs, the bass player made the best faces all night long. I enjoyed the opening band enough to buy the ep.

ReplyDeleteThey did play Our Swords, it's labeled Bass on the set List(the name it had as a demo, damn i sound like a nerd). It sounded great.
The bassist's face was hilarious, and I'm VERY jealous that you got a poster. I kinda wanted to run into you, we were gonna move to the left to avoid the noice. That show was VERY loud.
